Together Family

Another MARTIN value

One of the great things about family is the sense of inclusiveness. No man is an island, so the saying goes…we all need to be part of something. The modern terminology is Familialism.

Familialism is an ideology that puts priority on Family and family values. Familiaslism prioritises the needs of the family over the needs of the individual members and advocates for a system where we take care of each other rather than expecting the government or anyone else to do it for us.

Family gives us a sense of belonging and purpose. The family structure has changed over time and has morphed into several different guises. But at its core is the feeling of belonging to something that binds us together and makes us better than we can be alone.

Families don’t always agree. However generally families defer to the elders to resolve their conflicts. The main reason for this is the depth of their experience. Older people have generally experienced more situations, more often, than younger people. The elders set the family direction and any behavioural expectations. They hold the other family members to account if they don’t live up to their expectations. At the same time, they fiercely defend the same members against from people outside the family who are seeking to harm or take advantage of them.

This is how we try to operate at Martin Personnel. The council of elders (our internal staff) works hard to make sure that the people we employ, and the people that we work for, have family values.  That we have the hard discussions when they need to be had. That we praise and reward effort when its due. That we celebrate success. And that we keep people accountable for their actions or inactions.

As you would in your own family, we ask you to take on-board the moral and ethical principles that are passed on within your own family grouping. Martin Personnel will be an advocate for you, our people, and will take responsibility and care for you as we would for our own families. And we expect mutual reciprocity where our people look after us.

Simple really. Join us.
